Use 1 light to Create 5 Different High Key Beauty Portraits

Having a clean white background portrait is a pretty classic look for both headshot and beauty photography, but it can be a hard look to achieve if you don't have multiple lights. In this quick tutorial I will break down how you can control your lighting to get 5 different high key portraits while using just one light.

In order to achieve these looks I used one Profoto flash (any flash will work though) a C-Stand from Savage Universal which allowed me to clamp diffusion and have my light all on one stand, and some material to reflect light and to absorb light. I chose to use some v-flats from V-Flat World. Check out the video below to see a full breakdown of each different look.

Each of these portraits was back lit through standard diffusion that you can find in any 5-in-1 reflector kit. By introducing different reflective or anti-reflective surfaces I was able to control and shape the light to create different looks.
